Theory Test Ireland
What do you need to bring to the Irish theory test?
Quick answer
Bring valid photo ID (such as your passport or Irish driving licence) and your booking reference number. Without the correct documents you may be turned away and lose the booking fee. Check theorytest.ie for the current accepted-document list.
Acceptable photo ID
You will need valid photo ID -- commonly an Irish or foreign passport, an Irish driving licence, a Public Services Card, or a national identity card from an EU/EEA country. The name on your ID must match your booking exactly. Confirm the accepted-document list on theorytest.ie before you travel.
Your booking reference
Bring the booking confirmation you received by email, or have your reference number to hand. The Prometric centre will use it to check you in.
Arrive early and prepared
Get to the centre early to allow time for the check-in process. If your documents do not match or are missing, you cannot sit the test and the fee is lost. Confirm the requirements on theorytest.ie in the week before your test.
This is general guidance from an independent study app, not official advice. Always confirm current requirements and fees on theorytest.ie.
