You are approaching traffic lights and the signal changes to amber. What should you do?
- ○Accelerate to clear the junction before red
- ○Sound your horn and proceed with caution
- ✓Stop unless it would be unsafe to do so
- ○Continue at the same speed — amber means caution only
Correct answer
Stop unless it would be unsafe to do so
Amber means stop unless stopping would be dangerous (e.g., you are too close to stop safely). It does not mean 'speed up to beat the red light'.
